I’m typing this on my new Macbook that I got as a grad present!!!!

So, I’m in a Percy Jackson & The Olympians and Harry Potter mood.  Why?

 Well, first of all I just re-read the whole Percy Jackson series to prepare myself for reading the last book.  Then I read the last book – and I LOVE PERCY JACKSON SO MUCH!  Honestly, what a hilarious, action-packed, adventure-filled book with a great plot and characters.  LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!  So lately I’ve had Percy on the brain, and plus I’ve been freaking out about the PJ movie coming out.  Half of me is excited, because I love the actors they’ve chosen.

I mean,  he’s EXACTLY what I thought Percy would look like (and he’s scrumptious!)

And look at this Grover!  I mean, doesn’t he just scream “satyr” to you?  (Though he does look way to old, I mean, he’s in his late 20’s and Grover’s supposed to look, like, 12…)

And he screams “Luke” to me.

The only problem I have is with Annabeth’s actress, because she has brown hair.  If that isn’t died blonde for the film, I’ll be mad.

But another half of me is worried for it because I’m scared they’ll mess it up.  We’ll have to see.


ANYWAY, I’m also in a Harry Potter mood because I have recently been introduced to A Very Potter Musical, which is a fan-made HP musical parody on Youtube.  I love it so much, it’s so funny.  The actors are hilarious too, I mean, Voldy pretty much made the whole show for me  because his actor was SO funny.  Voldemort/Quirrel FTW! (“Is okay good?” “Quirrel, okay is wonderful!”)  OMG SO GOOD!  And Draco and Snape’s actors were so great toO. 

And plus, the songs have a nasty habit of getting stuck in my head.  I mean, I’m sitting down to eat supper while singing “We won't be pushed around anymore /we'll be a force you cannot ignore /we'll be an army for Dumbledore/For Dumbledore!”

And it’s funny, because I think the people who wrote it watched Avatar.  I mean, I spotted 3 occurrences where it sounded like people were adlibbing ATLA
1. Ginny:  We kissed at the Yule Ball, and, well, I thought we were going to be together forever… but we’re not
    Aang:  We kissed and the invasion and I thought we were gonna be together… but we’re not.

2.  Dumbledore:  Draco, there are other options.  You know, it is time that you look inside yourself and figured out what it is what you really want.
      Iroh:  Zuko, I am begging you, look into your heart and see what it is that you truly want.

3.  Voldemort: They did not deserve to live in this world, in my world. Prepare to join them. Prepare to die.
     Ozai: They did not deserve to exist in this world, in my world. Prepare to join them. Prepare to die.

And that's not the only thing that's got me in a HP mood.  To prepare for the new HP movie I'll be re-reading the 6th book, and my family is watching all the movies over again.  Tonight we just finished the 2nd movie, and I'm feeling all warm and fuzzy because of the last scene, y'know, when Hagrid comes back and everyone starts clapping and it's all cheesily joyful.  When we saw it in theaters, everyone in our whole theater stood up and started clapping too.  So now whenever I see that ending I get all warm and happy.

Is it nerdy to have a title that is a quote from a Wii Fit mini-game?

I have this song title stuck in my head.  It’s a Japanese song, so I have no idea what the lyrics in it actually mean, but I do know that the English translation of the title is “One More Time, One More Chance.”  This title adequately sums up what I’m feeling right now.  I have only one more day left of high school before I graduate.  I only have one more day, one more time, one more chance.  After Monday, exams start.  On June 25 I officially have graduated high school.  On June 26 I pick up my report card and walk out of the school, and never have to walk back in again.

And it just seems so unreal.  I mean, I find it hard to believe that it’s done.  It’s gone by too quickly; it can’t have been four years already, I can’t be going to university so soon.  I’ve built my life around high school’s beige walls and grey-tiled floors.  I feel secure in the home I have there, and now I have to abandon all of that and move on? 

    It’s just surreal.  I’m in denial.  I keep “thinking about the lastness of it all” and excerpts from John Green’s Paper Towns pretty much sum it all up.

“I kept thinking, I will never do this again, I will never be here again, this will never be my locker again...  This was the first time in my life that so many things would never happen again.”

So I went and saw the Star Trek movie awhile ago.  I went in to the theater thinking "Hmm... I heard this was good.  I hope they don't make it confusing for people who don't know much about the series..."

And then I came out of the movie with an obsession with Spock!  Honestly, I did not expect that one.  I mean, first of all, I didn't really know anything about the series going into the movie, so it wasn't like I was a fan to start with.  Secondly, Spock is played by this guy that I really hate in Heroes.  So I definitely not expect to leave that movie and still be thinking about Spock two weeks later.

But I just LOVE SPOCK'S CHARACTER SO MUCH!!  I mean, I need to watch that movie again, to see Spock.  I just LURVE him.  When will it come out on DVD, dammit!?!

I'm actually thinking about watching the old TV series with the cheesy effects so I can see more Spock.
